Empowering Women in Outdoor Shooting Sports with DIVA WOW
DIVA WOW (Women Outdoors Worldwide) is a woman-built organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of women passionate about outdoor shooting sports.
Founded by the inspiring Judy Rhodes, DIVA WOW actively empowers women, both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers, to embrace the thrill of shooting sports and further the cause of safe handling.
I had the pleasure of meeting Judy Rhodes several years ago during a women's reception at Shot Show. With a warm demeanor and unmistakable Texas spirit embodied by her iconic Texas Flag cowboy hat, Judy left a lasting impression on me. Instantly drawn to the mission of DIVA WOW, I knew I had to get involved.
Judy Rhodes established DIVA WOW 25 years ago, and since then, the organization has been hosting shooting clinics annually, providing invaluable opportunities for women to hone their skills and share their passion. This year marked Kinsey Rhea's second year supporting DIVA WOW at the clinic, further solidifying our commitment to empowering women in outdoor sports.
DIVA WOW's unmatched inclusivity is one of its standout merits. My daughter Ava eagerly attends the clinic each year, accompanied this time by her papaw. Together, they explored new horizons in shooting sports, including the exhilarating novelty of black powder shooting. It's heartwarming to see Ava's journey from learning gun safety at a young age to now enjoying shooting with her papaw.
